About Me

This is the place where I'm going to tell you something about myself, so you can get to know me and my destination wedding photography work a bit better.

I grew up on the outskirts of a fairly big city of Brno in the Czech Republic, surrounded by sculptures and paintings of my grandfather, my grandmother and my mother. I guess I couldn't miss the importance of visual conception of our everyday surroundings from the very early stages of my life.

With this strongly embedded in my genes, I ended my seven-year career as a piano virtuoso at the age of ten and decided to pursue other art forms including painting, installations, photography, video or conceptual art to end up desperately wanting to join my cousin’s Rock'n'Roll band at the age of eighteen.

Unfortunately, my piano expertise has vanished throughout the time, and we agreed that it wasn't the best idea to have me as a piano player in the band. I didn't want to give up the excitement that the idea of a teenage Rock'n'Roll band gave me, so I suggested being their photographer.

I went for the raw and old school Black&White film rolls because I felt that’s what this type of commitment required. Developing the films myself in a garage and going on tours with the band was the experience I was looking for. It lasted for almost four years, and the knowledge, expertise, and confidence in capturing fast-paced, low light, unpredictable situations gained from this experience proved to be very useful when I was asked to photograph my first wedding and all the other weddings after that.

It was the year of 2008, and I have been invited to capture a destination wedding in Varenna on Lake Como in Italy. I found the environment very familiar to the music photography I knew so fondly. I wasn't afraid of not knowing what is going to happen or when it is going to happen. I went with the flow of the wedding and enjoyed every part of it. I fell in love with it. The wedding planners I met that day proposed they would like to work with me after seeing the photos from that wedding.

To fast forward, I finished my University studies and did a smaller portion of destination weddings in Italy and elsewhere in the meantime before I decided to fully pursue my dream of being a visual storyteller, a photographer with patience to sense and capture the inner emotions into visual memories that last forever.

In my work, I focus on the purest subject of photography which for me is the human emotion without any artificial adornment. It is the laughter, joy, and happiness (both visible on the outside and hidden inside) that I love to share with and endorse in people I photograph.

If you want to find out more about my work, then have a look at my portfolio, read a few lines in the F.A.Q. section or head up to the Client Testimonials. I believe that the photography work describes itself the best and my past Clients have an excellent position to tell you something about how it is to have me as a wedding photographer.

I work as a Destination Wedding Photographer mostly in Italy (Italian Lakes Area, Lake Garda, Lake Como, Lake Maggiore, Ligurian Riviera, Tuscany…) and in Switzerland. I've had the privilege to be part of weddings in Austria, Portugal, Germany, and USA.

I also do documentary, portrait and corporate photography and video.

If you have any questions, want to have a chat about your wedding or about photography, please don't hesitate to contact me!

This isn’t supposed to be just a one-way road. I'd love to hear from you as well! Tell me about your wedding plans and ideas, how did you meet, how did you propose? I want to hear it all!
