Elopement on the top of Monte Baldo on Lake Garda in Italy
Getting ready: Poiano Resort Wedding Ceremony: San Giorgio di Valpolicella Wedding Dinner: Ristorante ai Beati
Veronica and Kyle are an adventurous young couple from the US, and they are always looking for new places to explore. They love mountains and traveling, and with the help from their wedding planners, they planned an intimate elopement in Italy on the shores of Lake Garda.
Would you believe that Veronica had her wedding dress in her hiking backpack the whole time they traveled thru Europe?
They got ready together in Poiano Resort in the town of Garda. Kyle had to step out and wait in the hotel garden to see Veronica in her dress for the first time, and you could see his excitement waiting for her.
They exchanged their vows during an intimate religious ceremony in a church in San Giorgio di Valpolicella (about 30-minute drive from the hotel).
The church is in a small village overlooking the lake, and the atmosphere was very intimate and peaceful.
After the ceremony, we headed to Punta San Vigilio to take some photos there. It is a lovely place to have an aperitif or a dinner accompanied by swans and sunset views.
For dinner, Veronica and Kyle had a reservation at Ristorante ai Beati and enjoyed the fabulous food and stunning view of the lake.
I knew about their adventurous spirits and their love for the mountains, because we were in touch quite a time before the wedding, discussing the details and ideas. As soon as I heard they are travelling alone, I knew we had a chance to try something distinctive. Since they had a few extra days on the lake, I had a proposal for them. I asked them if they would be willing to put their wedding attire on and drive up to the 2,218 m Monte Baldo in a cable car with me to take some stunning shots of the lake and the mountains.
As you can see, they agreed, and we had the perfect weather conditions up on the mountain for the photo-shoot.
Sometimes it gets a bit windy and a lot colder than when you get in the cable car underneath the mountain, but this day was exceptional. It was the morning after the wedding day, there was no wind at all, sunny conditions, and it was nicely warm. Just perfect.
What do you think? Would you like to have a ceremony up on the top of the Monte Baldo? Or a photo session like this? Are you looking for a wedding photographer on Lake Garda?
