I flew almost 2000 miles to be part of this wedding. Klaus & Shelle planned a weekend wedding celebration full of surprises and gorgeous locations. I immediately fell in love with both of them, the Portuguese countryside and famous Alianca wine.
Everyone stayed in Solar da Vacarica and enjoyed a beautifully renovated rooms, spacious garden with big swimming pool, tennis court and excellent service from the owners. There is a lot to do in the area.
Visiting Alianca caves with its underground museum and champagne tasting is a must.
Shelle got ready with her bridal party at Solar da Vacarica, and we took off to the ceremony to Convento de Santa Cruz next to the Bussaco Palace Hotel.
Bussaco Palace Hotel has been build between 1888 and 1907 and resembles the 16th-century architectural style characteristic for the peak of the Portuguese Age of Discovery.
After dinner, everyone headed back to the after party and dancing in the gardens of Solar da Vacarica. I managed to cope with the poor lighting conditions while still working with the ambient light as much as possible. It has been a wonderful experience for everyone, and I'm sure we'll be back someday.
